There are three sessions.
Sessions I and III are two-weeks long. Session I is only one week-long.
Each session has as a major area of focus the German Lied repertoire, in addition to minor areas of focus:
I. German Lied, English & American art song, Swedish art song (Swedish is optional: you don't have to take Swedish diction or perform in Swedishunless you want to) during the first session, which runs from Sunday, June 7 (arrival date: no activities on that day) to Sunday, June 21st, 2015 (departure date: no activities on that day);
UPDATE: this session will now also include an optional opera component following the same structure as our Opera Audition Training Program. (Click here for further details). Students who are already enrolled in Session I may opt to only do art song repertoire, or to include operatic repertoire as well.
II. German Lied and Russian art song (Russian is optional: you don't have to take Russian diction or perform in Russian unless you want to) during the second session, from Sunday, July 5th (arrival date: no activities on that day) through Sunday, July 12, 2015 (departure date: no activities on that day); and
III. German Lied, French mélodie, Spanish and Italian art song during the third session, from Sunday, July 19 (arrival date: no activities on that day) through Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 (departure date: no activities on that day).
Prospective participants are both able and welcome to apply to more than one session. Applicants may also opt to extend their stay by participating in our Professional Operatic Audition Training Program.
Individuals who succesfully apply to a two-week Art Song program and a one-week Operatic Training Program (or more), for a total duration of three-weeks or more, are eligible for a 10% tuition discount
